Businesses have never relied as much on their IT as they do today, and it is only going to increase. If used correctly it generates massive benefits but equally, it also creates greater dependency on operating your business. As such it is key you mitigate risk and vulnerability and ensure you have resiliency in your systems to minimize business downtime.
Our last IT risk and resiliency audit for a Glasgow-based SME client provided them with valuable insights into their approach to risk management and their level of preparedness for potential disruptions. The audit identified areas of weakness across 8 IT Infrastructure disciplines ranging from Backend Systems & Storage through to front-end user computing. It is essential to evaluate all the links of the chain in a customer’s technology stack as its the weakest link that will break the business operation. Based on the audit findings, we then worked with the client to highlight the risks in order of business impact/severity to then make informed decisions about the priority of investments in technology,
processes, and personnel to enhance their risk management and resiliency capabilities. Ultimately, the IT risk and resiliency audit helped improve the client’s overall confidence in their ability to handle IT-related challenges and maintain business continuity.
